31st Annual Crab Feed, Mexican Fiesta &
Dixieland on the Delta

Tower Park Marina and KOA Campground

May 28-31, 2009

As usual, the meeting place for the Club's #1 event is Tower Park Marina and KOA Campground in the Delta. For RV space & cabin reservations call the Vagabundos Office and talk to Star - (800) 474-2252 (BAJA).

We’ve had many requests to extend the time for this fun-filled event in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The place is Tower Park Marina and KOA Kampground. Thursday afternoon the plan is to have games in and around the Pavilion – Mexican Train, Bingo, Scrabble, Bean Bag Toss, and more - with prizes for winners. A potluck will be the dinner fare, with the barbecue trailer fired up near the beer wagon. Friday will see more games in the Pavilion and the same great Mexican Fiesta dinner with margaritas catered by New Mecca. Saturday will feature the wonderful Crab Feed we have enjoyed for so many years, with the Cellblock 7 Dixieland Jazz band in the afternoon followed by music for dancing until curfew time. The traditional wonderful Survivor’s potluck breakfast will be on Sunday morning for a last get-together before packing up and moving on.

This year we are talking with several of the excellent wineries in the Lodi area about setting up wine tasting tables near the Pavilion at some point during the event. A list of places to visit in the pristine Delta and vicinity and how to find many of the beautiful, historical and ecological areas will be available. If we have some volunteers, organized trips will be planned.

This is the event of the year, outstripping all other activities in number of attendees year after year. Up to 600 hungry Vags and friends have attended in past years.
We have searched diligently to find the very best Dungeness crab available and we bring in a ton of it (literally).
We will allow up to four guests per membership. The price is $22 per person for the Mexican dinner with margaritas and beer. The Crab Feed is $49 each. Call Vag HQ at (800) 474-2252 for reservations. Campsite reservations will be made through the Vag office in order to get a substantial discount. To minimize bookkeeping, full payment for your site will be required at the time the office requests.

Anyone staying in a cabin will need to stop at the KOA office to check in, but not coming in just for the day .
Many RV site reservations were made at the past Crab Feed and Starlene of our office has set aside those sites. Ticket reservations are still required and are totally separate from RV reservations. If you have not yet made your ticket reservations call the office to do so, (800) 474-2252.

It is a Crab Feed tradition to bring things you no longer use to sell or swap with Vag buddies. Feel free to set up a table on Friday and Saturday with your items - fishing tackle, boat gear or whatever. Someone else might consider your offerings as found treasure.
