Just as Mexico deserves multiple visits, so too Costa Rica. This scenic and forward-thinking country has so much beauty and diversity that Vagabundos has put together another specially designed itinerary to match our member's style of travel. And if you joined us for Costa Rica 2019, then check out 2021 because this tour is entirely different.

Day 1, Saturday, November 6: Fly on your own to San Jose, Costa Rica. You will be met at the airport and transported to the fascinating Studio Hotel where you can view an amazing, private art collection throughout the hotel. (costaricastudiohotel.com)

Day 2, Sunday, November 7: Our activities in San Jose start this morning with a full day Enchantments Tour that includes many of the cultural and economic activities honed over many generations, including a traditional lunch. Breakfast and lunch included (BL).

Day 3, Monday, November 8: Our comfortable, high tech bus will take us on a scenic drive to board our boat to Tortuguero National Park and the remote and rustic Evergreen Lodge where we will be surrounded by monkeys, sloth and all manner of flora and fauna. Your afternoon is free to enjoy the beautiful grounds and pool of our lodge. (evergreentortuguero.com). (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included (BLD).

Day 4, Tuesday, November 9: To get the most out of wildlife viewing, we'll take a very early morning plus the latest allowed afternoon boat ride into the National Park with our sharp-eyed captain looking for sloth, monkeys, reptiles, snakes, birds and much more. (BLD)

Day 5, Wednesday, November 10: Your morning is free to wander around our remote hotel grounds or take a dip in the beautiful pool. Our unusual lunch this afternoon will be aboard a large, platform boat that will take us so comfortably around the National Park to locate more wildlife, then a stop at the Sea Turtle Museum. (BLD)

Day 6, Thursday, November 11: A boat ride to our bus for another scenic drive (what isn't scenic in Costa Rica?) to the Sarapiqui Rain forest. Along the way we will experience a heart of palm farm operation and this evening a night walk into the forest to look for elusive, nocturnal wildlife. Day 7, Friday, November 12: Taste buds will work overtime today. First, we will take a chocolate tour, with tastings of course. Later in the day we will learn about traditional Costa Rican cuisine with a cooking demonstration that will become our traditional dinner. (BD)

Day 8, Saturday, November 13: On our way to Arenal Volcano we'll stop at a coffee plantation for a tour and taste a variety of fabulous Costa Rican coffees. This evening is your free time to

enjoy our fabulous hotel Arenal Kioro and its beautiful, cascading hot springs (hotelarenalkioro.com). Breakfast included, lunch and dinner on your own (B).

Day 9, Sunday, November 14: This is a day for you to choose an activity that suits your interests. So many to choose from, but we will help you plan and book your activity. (B)

Day 10, Monday, November 15: We'll take a guided tour of Arenal Volcano and hike the Hanging Bridges overlooking the tree canopy. (BL)

Day 11, Tuesday, November 16: On our way to the Papagayo Gulf we'll stop at a Puma Rescue Center and enjoy a Costa Rican BBQ. Hotel Bosque del Mar Playa Hermosa (bosquedelmar.com) (BL)

Day 12, Wednesday, November 17: Your morning is at leisure to enjoy the beach or one of the many activities of the area. This afternoon will be a fun catamaran ride with open bar and snacks, snorkeling and other activities included as we watch the beautiful Pacific sunset. (B)

Day 13, Thursday, November 18: Another day to customize the trip to your own interests. We'll help you plan an exciting day that could include ATV touring, sport fishing, cave tubing, horseback riding or more. (B)

Day 14, Friday, November 19: On our way to Manuel Antonio National Park along the Pacific coast we'll stop at a Macaw Sanctuary for a visit. Enjoy the multiple pools at Hotel Parador Resort and Spa (hotelparador.com) (B)

Day 15, Saturday, November 20: After a hike to the beach and some swim time in Manuel Antonio National Park we will kayak among the mangroves to see the wildlife at Damas Island. (B)

Day 16, Sunday, November 21: We are on our way back to San Jose to check into the Courtyard by Marriott in preparation for our sad return home tomorrow. This evening we'll enjoy a farewell dinner to relive memories and memorialize new friendships. (BD)

Day 17, Monday, November 22: Our hotel will provide shuttle service for our individual flights. Farewell Costa Rica, Pura Vida. (B)
