Yucatan and Guatemala

February 1 - April 1, 2011

We’re trying something new - going into Guatemala and visiting Honduras and Belize for ten days. We’ll also spend fifty fabulous days of exploring the best of Mexico. From jungle lowlands to rugged mountains, ancient cultures to colonial cities, modern resorts to indigenous peoples – this Tour covers it all. The Tour starts at Pharr, Texas and ends at Nogales, Arizona.

We’ll drive down the Gulf of Mexico to near Cancun. Plans are being made, but we’ll leave the RVs in a secure area and arrange an airplane flight to Guatemala City for a small tour. We’ll stay in a hotel in Antigua, then stay in several other cities. We will visit the enormous Mayan ruins of Tikal and also Copan just over the border in Honduras. We’ll re-enter Mexico through Belize. We’ll determine a second fee for this excursion for those who may wish to stay in Mexico and play on the Caribbean Coast longer.

Back in Mexico, we’ll tour Palenque, and several other cities before heading up the west coast from Mazatlan. The trip includes paid guided tours of a few of Mexico’s charming colonial cities and archeological sites. There are also paid tours to some very neat natural and scenic sites. Several of the overnight stays are at great beach locations, the longest, seven days, on the Caribbean. Also enjoy some of the best shopping for quality Mexican handicrafts at good prices. You’ll experience both the best of Mexico and Guatemala with lifelong memories. Call Vag HQ at (800) 474-2252 for reservations and payment of your $200 deposit. Non-members will receive membership free. The fee for two people in one rig will be determined. Call Wagon Master Tom Grady or Fred or Gloria Jones for further information.
