34th Annual Crab Feed and Mexican Fiesta

Tower Park Marina and KOA Campground

May 31 - June 3

The Crab Feed will be at our usual location - Tower Park Marina and KOA Kampground - off of Interstate 5 and Highway 12 near Lodi. Tickets are now on sale. Price will remain the same as it has been for several years - $45. We will have the Pig Roast on Thursday night, orchestrated by our world famous Pigmeister, Fred Eberle, and his able assistant, Dee. Charge will be only $7, plus a potluck dish to share that will complement the pig. Right now it is planned the pork, rice, plates and utensils will be supplied and BYOB. If the weather is warm, like it usually is during this time, we’ll look to a Hawaiian theme as in the past. There is a limit to the number that can be served for the Pig Roast, so make your reservations for this part of the event early. Friday night will bring back the popular Mexican Fiesta dinner catered by New Mecca Restaurant, which has become a tradition. Charge for this will be $23 a person with margaritas and beer. The Crab Feed is on Saturday and will feature the Cellblock 7 Dixieland Jazz Band in the afternoon, followed by music for dancing until curfew time. The traditional delectable Survivor’s Potluck Breakfast will be on Sunday morning for a last get-together before traveling on down the road.

So there it is - for the 35th Annual Crab Feed - a Pig Roast with delectable potluck dishes, great Swap Meet, Mexican Fiesta, Grande Crab Feed, and Survivor’s Sunday Potluck, all rolled into one fun, long fantastic weekend. It’s a good idea to make your reservations soon. Call the office at (800) 474-2252 to get on the list.

Campsite reservations will be made through the Vag office in order to get a substantial discount. To minimize bookkeeping, full payment for your site will be required at the time the office requests. Anyone staying in a cabin will need to stop at the KOA office to check in, but not coming in just for the day. Ticket reservations are still required and are totally separate from RV reservations.

It is still a Crab Feed tradition to bring things you no longer use to sell or swap with Vag buddies. This seems to get bigger and better every year. Feel free to set up a table on Friday and Saturday with your items. Last year found everything from out-of-print Baja books to rods, reels including a Penn International, tackle, SCUBA and boating gear and much more. Someone else might consider your offerings as found treasure. This, the Club’s premiere event can only happen with volunteers. That’s what has made it so great for all of these years.  As we did last year, a sign up list ahead helps and there will be another sign up list for this year, including for the Pig Roast.

There is interest in a post Crab Feed Delta Cruise. If you would like to be a leader, with help from the office, there are incentives, or call the office just to get on the list. This is a great relaxing time with Vag cruising buddies on the beautiful Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta with lots of time to swap Baja stories.

We have searched diligently to find the very best Dungeness crab available and we bring in a ton of it (literally).
